about me

Hello! My name is Ajua. I was born in 2006, and currently live in London.
I like drawing, taking photos, researching random stuff and listening to music, along with going to museums and watching movies.
I used to be a huge fan of kawaii fashion styles (e.g: fairy kei, mizuiro kei and kawaiicore/cutecore), but I'm discovering other styles. I also like ulzzang fashion. Basically, I like many aesthetics, that it's quite hard to stick to just one!(my pronouns are 'she' and 'her')

me throughout the years

At an early age, I developed a keen interest in self-expression and identity through fashion, art, and music. I am interested in the history of fashion, along with fashion trends and subcultures.I also usually have custom-made outfits for special occasions, and have occasionally tried out modelling (albeit as a hobbyist).

My Art

why do i like anime art?

I regularly started watching anime at the age of 12. Even though I studied GCSE Art, I realised that I really liked the anime art style, along with pop art.My interest in anime/manga art may explain why I regularly attend anime conventions, and I am doing my EPQ about the impact of Japanese anime on Japan's soft power.

2022

My confirmation dress (2021)

(project 2)

I was vaguely inspired by Sweet Lolita fashion for this dress's design, along with classical princess dresses.

I also decided to wear white accessories with my dress, as a callback to my communion dress.

I was able to reuse my skirt for another event (Hyper Japan 2023).

the culture wars (2022)

(project 3)

This was a presentation that I made back in 2022. I found the Culture Wars quite fascinating, since they seemed to dominate the mainstream media (and still does, apparently).

my old carrd

(project 3)

(my previous experience with web design)

This was my first attempt at using Carrd back in 2022. I watched quite a lot of tutorials to help me, and I'm glad with how it turned out.NOTE: This site was updated in 2022, but the links no longer work.
